Tottenham have taken the first step towards signing Juventus star winger Federico Chiesa this summer.
The North London club are keen on adding more firepower to their attack. While signing a world-class number nine remains a top priority, Tottenham are also looking to add depth on the flanks. According to a report from Area Napoli, Spurs are interested in the services of Juventus winger Federico Chiesa and have already made the first approach to bring him to London.
Chiesa had an incredible rise at Fiorentina, the move to Juventus allowed him to take the next step. While he did get off to a great start at the Turin-based club, the 26-year-old has reached the levels he was expected to. He has struggled with injuries and with just 12 months left on his deal, the Italian international is expected to be on the move this summer.
While Napoli and AS Roma have been linked with him, Chiesa seems keen on securing a move to England as he dreams of playing in the Premier League. Spurs are the ones who could help him fulfil his dream. The North London club need more quality on the flanks and the left winger could be a great signing for them as he will add goals and can feature anywhere in attack. It will give Ange Postecoglou quite a few tactical options.
Spurs have already made the first move towards securing his services. They are in contact with the Old Lady who want a fee of around €25-30 million to sanction Chiesa’s departure. The report also claims that Tottenham might have already tabled an offer for the star winger and it will be interesting to see if they can strike a deal in the coming days.
