Tottenham inform player he is free to leave; will be sold on a cut-price fee, move expected in the coming weeks

Tottenham Hotspur have informed Giovani Lo Celso to find a new club, as he is not part of the team’s plans.

As per Football Insider Spurs are willing to let the player leave in a cut-price fee of just £15 million.

The attacking midfielder is in the final year of his contract, which expires in June 2025, and the Lilywhites are keen to sell him this summer rather than risk losing him for free next year.

Lo Celso has not been a part of Ange Postecoglou’s plans, managing only four Premier League starts in his 22 appearances last season, where he contributed with two goals and two assists.

With midfield options like Rodrigo Bentancur, James Maddison, Yves Bissouma, and Pape Matar Sarr available, Lo Celso’s opportunities for regular play have diminished further.

Injuries have also troubled Lo Celso, sidelining him for nearly three months and causing him to miss 12 games in the previous campaign.

The report further states that the midfielder is now likely to leave the club in the coming weeks.

His journey with Tottenham began with a season-long loan from Real Betis in 2019, which was later made permanent. Despite the initial promise, his tenure has been marked by inconsistency and limited chances to shine.

The former PSG midfielder has struggled to make a lasting impact during his five years at Spurs. Since joining in a £60 million deal, he has registered just 10 goals and 8 assists in 108 appearances.

As the transfer window approaches, Lo Celso is expected to draw multiple offers, signalling the likely end of his time in North London.
