Tottenham Hotspur keeping tabs on highly-rated Ligue 1 centre back

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on Leny Yoro.

The Lille defender has been quite impressive for the French club this season and he has started in 12 of their 14 league matches. The 18-year-old is highly rated in French football and he has a big future ahead of him.

His performances have attracted the attention of the North London club and they could look to make a move for him soon as per TeamTalk. It is no secret that Tottenham need to sign a quality central defender and the 18-year-old would be a solid, long-term investment.

They invested in Ashley Phillips and Micky van de Ven during the summer transfer window. Van de Ven has established himself as a key player for the club and Phillips is likely to follow suit in the near future.

Yoro would be another solid acquisition for them. The 18-year-old could be tempted to move to the Premier League and regular football in England would accelerate his development and help him fulfil his tremendous potential.

The 18-year-old defender has a contract with Lille until the summer of 2025 and therefore the French club could be under pressure to sell him at the end of the season if there is a concrete proposal on the table.

Given his contract situation, he could be available for a reasonable price as well. Tottenham must do everything in their power to secure his services in the coming months.

Meanwhile, clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and West Ham are keeping tabs on the player as well.
