Tottenham hopes to use Davinson Sánchez to land Serie A defender

Tottenham is on the verge of locking up its goalkeeping position in Atalanta BC’s Pierluigi Gollini. However, that isn’t the only deal that the English club wants to make with the Serie A side.

According to Italian journalist Gianluigi Longari, Tottenham wants to work out a deal that would see them land teammate, Cristian Romero. The report states that Tottenham proposes a swap deal for the Argentine defender that would include Davinson Sánchez.

The 25-year-old has failed to lock down one of the starting central defender spots since arriving from Ajax in 2017 despite showing massive promise in glimpses under Mauricio Pochettino and Jose Mourinho.

Sánchez is a name that Tottenham is open to dealing and Atalanta could be interested considering that the Colombian defender’s agent also represents someone on the Italian club, Duván Zapata.

It will be interesting to see whether Atalanta decides to accept this offer for Romero, who Tottenham has on their shortlist of central defenders they want to land this summer.
