Tottenham hopes of landing managerial target complicated by surprise clause

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann.

The 35-year-old manager is currently out of a job after he was sacked by the German club and Tottenham are hoping to appoint him as their new manager

The Premier League club recently sacked Antonio Conte after his explosive remarks against his players following a draw against Southampton.

Nagelsmann is one of the best young managers in Europe, and he could prove to be an exciting acquisition for Tottenham. His attacking philosophy could be the ideal fit for Tottenham’s current set of players and it could get the best out of the players like Richarlison and Son Heung-Min, who have been unable to hit top form this season.

However, Tottenham’s move for the German manager could be complicated because of a surprise clause he had in his Bayern Munich contract. As per BILD via Fichajes, the manager’s new club will have to pay the Bavarians a certain amount of money if they want to appoint him as a manager this season.

It remains to be seen how the situation unfolds and whether Tottenham are prepared to pay up for his services. Appointing Nagelsmann as their manager right away could prove to be a wise decision and it could help them secure Champions League qualification for the next season.

Tottenham are currently fourth in the league table, but the likes of Newcastle United and Liverpool are breathing down their necks and they cannot afford to make any mistakes in terms of managerial appointments.
