Tottenham hold talks with 43-year-old Premier League man regarding key vacancy

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly held talks with Johan Lange as they look to bring in a new director of football as per the Athletic.

Fabio Paratici resigned in April following his ban from football and Tottenham are yet to appoint a quality replacement. The Italian has been handed a 30-month ban from football-related activities by FIFA. It remains to be seen whether Tottenham can agree on a deal to bring Johan Lange to the club.

Lange has done an impressive job at Aston Villa and it remains to be seen whether the West Midlands club are prepared to part ways with the 43-year-old. The 43-year-old helped the West Midlands club sign players like Ollie Watkins and Emiliano Martinez. He will be expected to help Tottenham sign quality players in the coming seasons as well.

Tottenham have made an impressive start to the current campaign and they are currently on top of the league table. They will be hoping to compete for major trophies in the coming seasons and they need the right recruitment in order to match up to the Premier League elite.

Although they do not have the resources to compete against clubs like Manchester City, clever recruitment could help them bridge the gap. Someone like Lange will add experience to the club’s recruitment department and he could be an asset for them.
