Tottenham hijack 25-year-old’s Everton move despite medical with Toffees

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly signing the Villarreal winger Arnaut Danjuma on loan until the end of the season.

According to Paul Joyce from The Times, the Dutch winger underwent his medical with Everton ahead of a loan move but he had not signed his contract with them.

Spurs have swooped in late to secure his services. As per David Ornstein from The Athletic, the player will finalise his move to Tottenham now.

Danjuma has been linked with a return to the Premier League in recent weeks and Spurs could certainly use someone like him during the second half of the season.

The likes of Son Heung-Min have not been at their best and Danjuma will look to add goals and creativity in the final third for Spurs.

The 25-year-old scored 16 goals for Villarreal last season and he has six goals to his name so far this season.

His decision to join Tottenham even after undergoing a medical with Everton will come as a major blow for the Toffees. Everton are in desperate need of attacking reinforcements and Danjuma would have improved them in the final third.

The Dutchman will look to help Spurs finish in the top four and secure Champions League qualification now.

The Londoners are currently fifth in the league table, three points adrift of Manchester United in fourth place.

Spurs will also look to improve their defence before the window closes and Sporting CP defender Pedro Porro is a target for them.
