Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keeping tabs on the Nigerian striker Gift Orban.
The 21-year-old has been quite impressive for the Belgian club KAA Gent and his performances have caught the attention of European giants like Barcelona and AC Milan as well.
A report from Fichajes claims that Spurs have ‘taken note’ of the player’s performances and they ‘could compete’ with the likes of Barcelona to secure his services.
The 21-year-old scored 20 goals across all competitions last season, and he has been in flying form the season as well. The talented young attacker has bagged six goals in 10 appearances across all competitions, and he is likely to get better with coaching and experience.
Spurs could certainly use another striker in their ranks and Orban could push Richarlison for the starting spot. The Brazilian international has not been able to score goals consistently and Tottenham have missed a clinical presence in the final third.
They decided not to replace Harry Kane directly during the summer transfer window, but signing a proven goalscorer could prove to be a wise decision. Tottenham have been very efficient going forward under the new manager and having a reliable finisher at their disposal could take them to a whole new level.
Spurs will be hoping to get back into the top four and compete for domestic trophies. It remains to be seen whether they decide to make a move for the 21-year-old striker in the coming months.
The opportunity to join the Premier League club will be an attractive option for the young striker but the Belgian club might not be keen on letting a key player leave midway through the season.
