Tottenham have secret agreement with attacker who will replace Lucas Moura

According to reports, Tottenham will sign Dejan Kulusevski on a permanent basis next summer.

Last winter, Juventus signed the 22-year-old Swedish international on an 18-month loan. Kulusevski wasted no time in proving his worth, scoring 13 goals in 18 league games last season to help Tottenham finish fourth.

And now transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has reported that Spurs will sign him on a permanent in 2023.

The transfer specialist claimed that there are ‘no doubts’ Tottenham will sign Kulusevski on a permanent next summer.

Spurs have two options to turn his loan spell to a permanent contract. The first option is to buy the player for €35 million if he appears in 20 Premier League games for 45 minutes or more and Spurs qualify for the UEFA Champions League.

Second, there is a buy-option clause that allows Spurs to buy him outright if certain conditions are not met.

If Spurs maintain their current form, they will qualify for the Champions League and may even challenge for the title. After seven league games, they have 17 points, the same as Manchester City, who leads on goal difference.

What does this mean for Lucas Moura?

Given Tottenham’s intention to sign Kulusevski in some form or another, the writing may be on the wall for £25 million signing Lucas Moura.

After the arrivals of Kulusevski and Richarlison, the Brazilian has been demoted to fifth choice forward and has only played 12 minutes of football this season so far.

The player had previously claimed that his future is up to Spurs who have an option to extend his contract by one year but recent reports have suggested that with his contract ending next summer, the former PSG star is ‘keen to explore other opportunities‘.

And with Kulusevski set to arrive permanently, Moura’s time in north London may be coming to an end.
