Tottenham have rejected an approach from Championship club for key figure

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly turned down an approach from Championship side Swansea City for their senior assistant coach, Chris Davies.

Davies, currently part of Ange Postecoglou’s coaching staff, has emerged as a leading contender for the managerial position at Swansea following Michael Duff’s dismissal.

According to BBC, Swansea chairman Andy Coleman is gearing up to meet potential managers from his shortlisted candidates this week.

However, the report indicates that Swansea would need Tottenham’s permission to engage in discussions with Davies and would be required to offer compensation to the Premier League club if they decide to appoint him.

Swansea’s struggles in the Championship, sitting in 18th place with just one win in their last eight games and 21 points from 19 matches, have led them to seek new leadership.

As talks loom and Swansea seeks their next manager, Tottenham’s firm stance on retaining Davies underscores the significance of his role within the Spurs setup under Postecoglou.

They enjoyed a terrific start to the season going 10 games unbeaten. But a big injury crisis has resulted in 4 games without a win with three defeats and a draw.

They play an uninspiring West Ham next and will hope to get back to winning ways.

A win will see them go level at points with 4th placed Manchester City.
