Tottenham Hotspur are looking to sign a right back and they have been linked with the Inter Milan star Denzel Dumfries.
According to a report from 90min, the Londoners have made enquiries for the 26-year-old Dutch international and it will be interesting to see if they decide to follow up with a concrete offer in the coming months.
Inter Milan are going through financial difficulties right now and they could be forced to sell some of their players in order to balance the books at the end of the season.
Dumfries has done well since joining the Italian club and he would be a quality acquisition for Antonio Conte’s side.
The Dutch right back would be an upgrade on the likes of Matt Doherty and Emerson Royal, who could be sold soon.
Meanwhile, Spurs signed Djed Spence from Middlesbrough and the youngster is yet to cement his place in the starting lineup. Conte needs a more established option as his right back and Dumfries would be a superb addition.
The 26-year-old has shown that he is a reliable defender and he is just as good going forward. He will add a new dimension to the Tottenham attack as well.
Conte’s system requires him to depend on his full-backs and improving the right-back slot should be Tottenham’s top priority. It will be interesting to see if they can convince Inter to sell the player to them in the upcoming windows.
A move to the Premier League could be a tempting option for the player as well.
