Tottenham Hotspur are working to solve their defensive problems when the transfer window opens in January and they have identified Radu Dragusin as a target.
A report from TuttoMercatoWeb claims that Tottenham ‘have an offer ready’ to sign the 21-year-old Genoa defender. The North London club have watched him closely this season and club emissaries are reportedly happy with his performances.
The report further states that Tottenham are now ready to make their move for the player and they ‘want him now’. Spurs are already dealing with an injury crisis and Eric Dier has been linked with a move away from the club in January. That leaves Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven as the only reliable defenders.
Tottenham must prioritise the signing of a quality central defender in the coming weeks and Dragusin would be a long-term addition for them. The 21-year-old has been quite impressive in the Italian league and he will certainly help them improve at the back. In addition to that, he is far from his peak and the Romanian international is likely to improve further.
The defender is reportedly valued at €30 million and the fee could prove to be a major bargain in the long run if he manages to fulfil his tremendous potential. Tottenham certainly have the means to get the deal done and they should look to secure his signature as soon as the January window opens.
They will need to address the problems in their squad if they want to finish the season strongly and qualify for the UEFA Champions League.
