Tottenham have ‘accelerated talks’ for €35m Spanish star who Fabio Paratici knows very well

Tottenham have ‘accelerated talks’ for Porro, according to the Spanish publication O Jogo (via Sport Witness), and their approach has already reached Sporting.

It’s been reported that Antonio Conte wants a more attacking fullback for Tottenham’s squad, and given the manager’s current contract situation, in which he is negotiating a contract extension, that puts extra pressure on the club to get him what he wants.

The club also sought out more information on Porro by getting in touch with scouts from his former team, Manchester City, after being impressed by what they saw from him when Porro played against them in the Champions League.

According to the report, Sporting will demand at least €35m for the player, with 30% of the fee set to go to Manchester City who had inserted a sell-on clause in the deal.

Last week, Fabrizio Romano also confirmed Spurs’ interest in the player claiming that he’s a player Fabio Paratici ‘knows very well since long time‘. He also stated that the club’s interest in the player is genuine with the North London club having ‘sent their scouts’ to watch him play many times.

He further claims that Manchester City could also be interested in him and they will hold the advantage if they intend to sign him.

Sporting, however, are in no rush to sell Porro who is committed to the Estadio Jose Alvalade until 2025.

The Spanish star is a versatile player who can play out wide or as a wing-back, so he’d be more useful to Spurs than City
