Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Wolfsburg defender Micky van de Ven.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the 22-year-old Wolfsburg defender is ‘on their shortlist’ and Spurs are keeping tabs on the Bayer Leverkusen defender Edmond Tapsoba as well.
Apparently, both defenders are appreciated by the London club and it will be interesting to see who they sign eventually.
Romano claims that talks have already taken place with the Wolfsburg defender’s representatives regarding a summer transfer.

Tottenham certainly have the financial resources to agree on a fee with Wolfsburg and it remains to be seen whether they follow up on their interest with a concrete proposal in the coming weeks.
Van de Ven has been linked with other Premier League clubs as well and the Dutch defender could prove to be a quality acquisition for Tottenham. He will add defensive quality and pace to the Spurs backline. The 22-year-old defender is rapid and his recovery pace could prove to be invaluable for Ange Postecoglou’s side.
The Australian manager prefers high-intensity attacking football and Van de Ven’s recovery pace could come in handy for Tottenham next season.
The 22-year-old was one of the most promising defenders in the German league this past season and he has the ability to succeed in the Premier League as well. He could prove to be a quality long-term acquisition for Tottenham and it remains to be seen whether they can get a deal done.
It will be interesting to see if Spurs can bring in the necessary defensive reinforcements before the transfer window closes.
