Tottenham handed transfer boost as rivals decide to sell 24-year-old summer target

Tottenham Hotspur continues to be linked with a move for the Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher.

We covered reports earlier this week that they will return for the 24-year-old midfielder at the end of the season and they have now been handed a major boost.

Latest reports from HITC claim that Chelsea have now decided that they will sell 24-year-old Englishman in the summer and Tottenham will hope to secure his services now.

It remains to be seen whether the two clubs can secure an agreement over a reasonable fee. Gallagher has been a key player for Chelsea this season and he has captained them multiple times. There is no doubt that he’s a reliable performer in the Premier League and he could be a key player for Tottenham.

His skill-set could prove to be invaluable for the North London club. Gallagher will add work rate and pressing ability in the middle of the park and he should prove to be the ideal fit for Tottenham’s current style of football.

The North London outfit tried to sign during the January window as well but the move never materialised.

Gallagher will enter the final year of contract in the summer and Chelsea could be under pressure to sell him for a reasonable price.

Meanwhile, the 24-year-old is still relatively young with room for development. He could improve further and establish himself as an indispensable asset for Tottenham.
