Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Sevilla defender Loic Bade.
There have been reports in recent days that the North London club is keeping tabs on the 23-year-old French defender and a report from El Mira claims that Tottenham are now the ‘great favourite’ to acquire his services this month.
The report further states that the London club is ‘actively bidding’ to sign the player and he is likely to cost €35 million. Sevilla paid €12 million to sign the player and they could make a substantial profit on him.
Tottenham need defensive additions and Bade could prove to be a quality signing.
He has shown his quality in La Liga and he is certainly good enough for the Premier League. Moving to England would be an exciting step up in the player’s career and he will look to prove himself at the highest level.
Tottenham defender Eric Dier is expected to leave the club this month and they will have to bring in adequate replacements. The 23-year-old Frenchman would be a superb alternative. In addition to that, players like Cristian Romero and Micky Van de Ven have had injury problems as well.
Tottenham certainly have the financial muscle to pay the reported €35 million asking price as well. The move could look like a major bargain in the long run if the player manages to adapt to the Premier League quickly and fulfill his potential.
The North London outfit are thoughts to be looking at the Romanian defender Radu Dragusin as well.
