Tottenham following 22-year-old with ‘great attention’, Player will ‘almost certainly’ cost €45-50m

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on the Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez.

A report from TV Play Italy claims that the North London outfit are following the 22-year-old striker with ‘great attention’ and they are willing to pay big money for him. Apparently, Feyenoord will ‘almost certainly’ demand €45-50 million for the player and Tottenham would be willing to accommodate their requests.

Tottenham sold Harry Kane during the summer transfer window and they are yet to bring in a specialist replacement. Son Heung-min has had to carry the goalscoring burden after the departure of the England international but Tottenham need more options at their disposal. Brazilian international striker Richarlison has failed to live up to the expectations and he has struggled to score goals consistently.

Gimenez could prove to be a quality long-term alternative to Kane. The 22-year-old Mexican striker scored 23 goals last season and he helped Feyenoord win the title. He will look to take the next step in his development and a move to Tottenham would be an exciting opportunity for him.

The North London outfit have started the season well and they are currently on top of the league table. They will want to compete for major trophies and return to the UEFA Champions League.

Signing players like Gimenez in January could help them build on their impressive start and finish the season strongly.

Chelsea and Arsenal are reportedly keeping tabs on the striker as well and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham can win the race for his signature.
