Tottenham fan favourite says he now feels ‘like the best version of myself’

By The Boy -

Spurs’ season got underway with unprecedented success, unbeaten until November when ill-discipline and injuries got the better of Ange Postecoglou’s squad, resulting in three losses on the bounce to Chelsea, Wolves, and Aston Villa.

The Ginger From Sweden was an instant fan favourite, in his first season 2021/22 season, Dejan scored five times in the Premier League and made seven assists and nineteen shot assists

Last season Kulu scored twice, and made seven assists, plus thirty-eight shot assists.

This season the £25 million man has provided four goals, and an assist, not to mention a whopping thirty-one shot assists.

Kulusevski spoke to Football London about how he was feeling about his efforts these days.

Against Newcastle United, Big Ange mixed things up a little and played the attacker on the left-hand side of the park, which looked more natural and less predictable from the left footer. Sure, this was just one game, but the 23-year-old’s shot and crossing accuracy both hit 100%.

“I wasn’t happy with last season and the way it finished so I wanted to come back much stronger this season. I did a lot of work every day, a lot of hard work, and now I feel like the best version of myself and coming back into my real form.

I’m just happy because it took many months to get to this point – it didn’t happen overnight – but I’ve worked so hard to get to this level.

“I feel completely free, not only in the new position but in my mind just playing football without overthinking because it’s the best way to play football when you’re not thinking about mistakes or anything else. Now I feel very good so I’m ready to keep playing like this for the rest of the season and I’m determined to help the team even more.”

It looks as if this season is poised to be a further improvement for the lad, which is great timing given Tottenham wants to get back into European football next term, a task that could be all that much tougher.
