Tottenham fall behind Crystal Palace in the race to sign relegated star

Joachim Andersen could make a return to the Premier League and Tottenham wants to be the club that signs him.

The Dane was on loan at Fulham last season and he was one of their best players, but his efforts weren’t enough to stop them from suffering relegation.

The Lyon centre-back could head back to the Premier League with The Telegraph claiming that Spurs and Crystal Palace want to sign him.

The Eagles are, however, now leading the race for his signature after making Patrick Vieira their latest manager.

The report says Palace has made him a priority target after they failed to keep Patrick van Aanholt and still cannot agree with Gary Cahill over a new contract.

They have already added Marc Guehi from Chelsea to their squad and Andersen might become the next player that joins them.

The report says Spurs have turned their attention towards adding Cristian Romero from Atalanta to their squad in recent weeks.

Romero comes with more pedigree after winning the Copa America with Argentina this summer.

He also competed in the Champions League with Atalanta last season and might be the solution to Tottenham’s long-standing problems at centre-back.
