Tottenham fall behind Arsenal in the race to sign legendary defender

By Bruce Grove -

Arsenal is close to beating Tottenham to the signature of Sergio Ramos after the Spaniard left Real Madrid.

Ramos has had a distinguished time in Madrid and he is one of the greatest defenders of his generation.

His last campaign was plagued by injury and Madrid has decided against giving him a new deal.

The defender will now restart his career at another club and Tottenham is one of the teams that have been looking to sign him for free.

The Lilywhites targeted him for much of last season when Jose Mourinho was their manager.

They now have the chance to sign him after he became a free agent and he might already be heading to London.

This is because Todofichajes reports that Arsenal is leading the race for his signature at the moment.

The report claims that the Gunners see him as the perfect replacement for David Luiz whom they released after two seasons.

The Brazilian was an important influence in their dressing room and Mikel Arteta wants Ramos to become the next top star at the club.

The deal is not done yet and that means Spurs can still win the race for him, but they are struggling to name a new manager and might have to do that before they start any serious transfer business.

There’s more of a chance that Steven Hawking will be given a trial with Inter Milan.

Come on, we have been trailing behind le arse for 30 years and only a fool would argue. Spurs 2 League Cups. le arse 3 League Titles. 9 FA Cups. 1 League Cup.1 Cup Winners Cup. And if they had gotten rid of wenger sooner it could have been more. Why do I mention? Simple. We need a MASSIVE shake-up and delusion is not the answer.
