Tottenham failed with late attempt to sign 28-year-old versatile attacker

By Saikat -

Tottenham didn’t succeed with a late bid to sign Bayern Munich forward Kingsley Coman.

The North London club could have added Kingsley Coman to their squad very late in the recently concluded transfer window. They were in talks with the player’s representatives but according to a report from Fichajes, Tottenham failed with a late attempt to sign the Bayern Munich star.

The 28-year-old French winger has had a lot of success throughout his career. He has won titles in France, Italy as well as a Germany. While Coman has been an integral part of the Bayern setup for years, injuries have caused a lot of problems in recent seasons. He has gone down the pecking order of late and despite him having three years left on his deal, the German club were ready to sanction his departure.

They were ready to negotiate with any interested party and multiple Premier League clubs were involved in talks quite late in the window. Tottenham were one of the clubs linked with the French winger. Coman’s representatives were in talks with the director of the North London club, they offered their client’s services but Spurs didn’t take any definitive steps to sign him.

Having already extended the loan spell of Timo Werner and signed Dominic Solanke as well as Wilson Odobert, Tottenham were well covered in attack, as a result, they didn’t have any reasons to go after Coman’s signature. The German club have failed to find him a new club and they will be hoping that the 28-year-old manages to return to his best during the 2024/25 season under Vincent Kompany.
