Tottenham face serious competition in race to sign Loren Moron

AC Milan has joined Tottenham in the race to sign Loren Moron from Real Betis, reports IlMilanista.

Tottenham had made Loren a target, according to a report in La Razon, as a backup to Harry Kane when the transfer window reopens.

Jose Mourinho’s side struggled this season when they lost Harry Kane to injury and the Portuguese boss wants to avoid that in the future.

Despite scoring just nine goals and providing two assists in twenty-six league games this season, teams apparently consider Loren to be a perfect backup striker because of his overall contribution to his team when he plays.

Tottenham knows that Harry Kane would be their undisputed first choice when he is fit, but since they allowed Fernando Llorente to leave them last summer they haven’t had a good backup to Kane.

Loren is just 26 and can still improve if he moves to the Premier League, but Spurs fans will remember how Roberto Soldado flopped when he moved to White Hart Lane from the Spanish league.

Spurs and Milan aren’t the only teams who want to sign Loren with Napoli also reportedly keen to sign him if they lose any of their top strikers.

Transfermarkt values him at £16 million, but the coronavirus pandemic could drive his price down significantly.
