Tottenham eyeing World Cup manager as a potential replacement for Conte

Tottenham manager Antonio Conte is nearing the end of his contract at the Premier League club and the Londoners are reportedly looking at potential replacements.

Antonio Conte will be out of contract at the end of the season and the Premier League club is preparing for contingencies, in case the Italian decides to move on.

According to Calciomercatoweb, Spurs are lining up a move for the former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique as a potential replacement.

Enrique is an accomplished manager and he has proven his quality with Barcelona and the Spanish national team.

Although Spain crashed out of the World Cup in the round of 16, they managed to impress with their performances.

Enrique groomed a talented young squad for the Spanish national team and he will be expected to build a formidable squad at Tottenham if he takes over. He is currently a free agent after leaving his position as a manager of the Spanish national team.

Ideally, Spurs would want Antonio Conte to stay for the long term after backing him significantly in the recent transfer windows.

Conte has improved Tottenham since his arrival, and it will be interesting to see if he is willing to commit his long-term future to the club.

It would be quite surprising if he decided to abandon his project at Tottenham midway, and decided to pursue a new challenge.

Conte is an ambitious manager and he will be hoping to win some trophies at Spurs before leaving the club.

Daniel Levy has backed his manager considerably in the transfer windows, and he will have to continue to match up to the Italian’s ambitions in order to convince him to stay.
