Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Real Madrid attacking midfielder Arda Guler.

The 19-year-old is reportedly frustrated with the lack of playing time at the Spanish club and he has been linked with an exit as per TBR Football. The player had multiple opportunities to leave Real Madrid during the summer transfer window, but he turned down offers in favour of staying at the Spanish club.

Tottenham are long-term admirers of the player.

It will be interesting to see if Real Madrid can give him the opportunities he needs. He cannot afford to sit on the bench at a big club at this stage of his career. He is a world-class talent who needs regular exposure.

Guler is a versatile player who can slot into the number ten role as well as a winger. He will add goals and creativity to the Tottenham side. He showed his quality during the Euros and became only the third teenager after Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney to score and assist in the competition.

Tottenham are not the only Premier League club keen on him. The likes of Liverpool, Manchester United, and Arsenal are keeping tabs on his situation as well. It seems unlikely that Real Madrid will sanction his departure in January. It will be interesting to see if these Premier League clubs decide to test the waters with a lucrative proposal in the coming months.

Guler will certainly want to fulfil his potential at Real Madrid and win major trophies with them. However, if the opportunities are limited, he might start considering a potential exit. A move to the Premier League could be an exciting opportunity.

Tottenham have an exciting project and a talented squad. The 19-year-old could prove to be a good fit for them and a move to the North London club could help him get his career back on track with regular football. Guler has the physical and technical attributes to do well in English football as well.
