Tottenham eyeing 62-year-old manager as an alternative to Antonio Conte

Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte has been linked with a move away from the club in recent months.

The Italian manager will be a free agent at the end of this season and Tottenham have not been able to secure a contract extension with him.

According to Daily Express, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is eyeing potential alternatives, and the former Germany manager Joachim Low is reportedly a target.

The German manager led his country to World Cup glory back in 2014 and the 62-year-old could be a quality acquisition for the Premier League club.

Ideally, Spurs will want to hold on to Conte who has done an impressive job since taking over. It would be quite a surprise if Conte decided to abandon his Tottenham project midway. The Italian manager is an ambitious personality who will want to win trophies at Spurs before leaving them. Furthermore, Spurs have backed him heavily with new signings and they will be hugely disappointed if Conte turned his back on them.

It remains to be seen whether Tottenham can tie him down to a new long-term deal.

As for Low, the opportunity to manage a Premier League club could be an attractive proposition for him and it remains to be seen whether Spurs make a move for him in the summer.

The London club are thought to be looking at the former Spanish manager Luis Enrique as well. On the other hand, the likes of Mauricio Pochettino and Thomas Tuchel have been linked with Tottenham as well.
