Tottenham eyeing 28-year-old title-winner who could be available on a bargain

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah.

The 28-year-old central defender is on the radar of the North London club and they will face competition from clubs like Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea, as per Sport.

The defender will be available on a free transfer for next summer and he has refused to sign an extension with the German outfit. Tah has been a key player for Leverkusen and he helped them win the league title last season.

It seems that the German international is now open to a new challenge, and it will be interesting to see where he ends up.

It is no secret that Tottenham need a quality central defender. Currently, they have Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero and Radu Dragusin at their disposal. They need another reliable central defender so that they can deal with injuries and fixture congestion. Ange Postecoglou will need to rotate his squad in order to keep them fresh.

The 28-year-old would be the ideal acquisition, especially on a free transfer. If the Bundesliga outfit are open to selling him in January, he could be available for a knockdown price midway through the season.

Tottenham must do everything in their power to get the deal done. The 28-year-old is a proven performer in German football, and he has the physical and technical attributes to thrive in England as well. He could be a key player for the North London club in the coming seasons.
