Tottenham express interest in signing 27-yr-old at the end of the season

Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar has been linked with a move away from the Italian club for months now.

A report from 90Min claims that Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur have expressed an interest in signing the 27-year-old defender at the end of the season.

The Slovakian international will be a free agent in the summer and Tottenham are hoping to sign him up on a free transfer.

Antonio Conte has worked with the player during his time at Inter Milan and he knows all about Skriniar. The 27-year-old is a top-class defender and he would improve Tottenham immensely if he joins the club.

The lack of a quality right back and a reliable partner for Cristian Romero are probably the only weaknesses in the Tottenham squad right now and Skriniar would certainly address one of the two problems.

It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can secure a pre-contract agreement with the player in January.

There will be other clubs trying to sign the 27-year-old and Tottenham must act swiftly in order to beat the competition and secure his signature. The fact that the player has an existing relationship with Conte could give the London club and edge in the transfer chase.

Inter Milan remain keen on extending the player’s contract but the two parties have not been able to reach an agreement yet. It will be interesting to see if the Italian giants can convince Skriniar to snub a move to the Premier League and commit his long-term future to the club over the next few weeks.
