Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing Andreas Pereira from Fulham and they have initiated contact with his agent Kia Joorabchian.
With the transfer window fast approaching, the North London club have started working on potential transfers as they look to reinforce Ange Postecoglou’s squad. The Australian manager has had an impressive first season and is now keen on building on it by making the right moves in the market.
According to Globo Esporte, Tottenham are interested in acquiring the services of Andreas Pereira as they look to add more quality to their midfield. They have already expressed their interest in him and have ‘sounded out’ his agent.
Spurs are expected to undergo an overhaul in the centre of the park in the summer. With Giovani Lo Celso and Pierre-Emile Højbjerg likely to leave, they are looking to sign multiple midfielders. Pereira’s consistent performances for the Cottagers and his versatility are major reasons for the North London club’s interest in him. He could cover for James Maddison and could also feature in a deeper when needed.
The Brazilian international has had an exceptional 2023/24 season where he contributed towards 12 goals. While there are still two years left on his deal, he could be on the move in the summer. The former Manchester United star had an agreement with Marco Silva where he could not leave Fulham in the first two seasons.
During that time, there was interest in his services but they turned it down.
However, the club as well as the player think now is the right time to make the move. The Brazilian is unlikely to continue at Fulham for another season and Tottenham could be his next destination. The North London club are already in talks with his agent Kia Joorabchian as they look to sign him. That said, the player is looking for Champions League football and Spurs might have to do some convincing.
