Tottenham expected to make £162m-plus announcement

Tottenham Hotspur are all set to announce a club-record revenue for the 2021-22 season.

According to a report from Football Insider, Tottenham have managed to surpass the £161.5 million commercial revenue they earned during the 2020-21 season.

The revenue figures are set to be announced soon and the report adds that Manchester United and Manchester City are the only other clubs who have surpassed the commercial revenue from the previous season.

Tottenham appointed Todd Kline as the head of their commercial department at the start of the 21-22 season and the move has clearly worked out well for them.

Kline has worked with NFL sides in the past, and his experience seems to have benefited the London club.

It will be interesting to see if Spurs can surpass these numbers for the ongoing season now. The fact that they are competing in the Champions League and they have made it to the knockout stages of the tournament should boost their coffers.

Furthermore, there have been rumours of a potential naming rights deal for their brand-new stadium.

The report from Football Insider claims that the London club could earn around £20 million per season from such an agreement.

It will be interesting to see if the Londoners decide to use some of that money to strengthen their squad.

Antonio Conte will be hoping to challenge for the major trophies with Tottenham and they will need to sign some quality players in order to bridge the gap with elite clubs like Manchester City
