Roma midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur over the last few days.
The 23-year-old Italian international is highly rated in Serie A and the Premier League club are thought to be keen on securing his services.
According to Italian journalist Paolo Bargiggia, club director Fabio Paratici had a ‘telephone conversation’ with the player’s agent last week and the Londoners are currently ‘evaluating’ his situation.
The player was linked with a move to Juventus as well but it seems that the Italian giants have cooled their interest in the talented playmaker.
It is no secret that Tottenham will have to bring in more creativity and flair in their midfield and Zaniolo could prove to be a quality long-term acquisition.
Tottenham manager Antonio Conte will know all about the player having watched him closely during his time in Italy but it seems quite unlikely that Spurs will spend big money on the player this summer.
Tottenham have already completed six signings this summer and Zaniolo is unlikely to be a cheap acquisition.
The midfielder is reportedly valued at €50 million according to reports we have covered earlier.
It would be fair to assume that any move for the midfielder will have to wait until next summer at the very least.
