Tottenham Hotspur are looking to improve their midfield unit with the signing of Youssouf Fofana from AS Monaco.
According to Football Insider, the London club have already expressed interest in signing the player but they will face competition from Italian giants AC Milan. Milan are currently in talks with the French outfit for the 25-year-old, and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham can get the deal done.
They need to add more quality and depth in the middle of the park and the French midfielder would be the ideal acquisition. He is in the final year of his contract with Monaco and he could be available for a reasonable price this summer.
He will add physicality and defensive cover to the Tottenham midfield, and he could be the ideal replacement for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who has been linked with an exit from Tottenham.
The 25-year-old French midfielder has the physical and technical attributes to adapt to English football and he will look to establish himself as a player for Tottenham if the move goes through.
