Tottenham enquire about availability of Swiss international

Portuguese outlet, Record claims that Jose Mourinho wants to sign Benfica’s Swiss international, Haris Seferović.

The Lilywhites will sign a striker in this transfer window and the former Fiorentina man is their latest transfer target.

The report claims that Mourinho has now turned to his homeland to find a solution to his striker problems.

Spurs are reportedly proposing a loan deal with the option of signing him permanently at the end of the season.

Seferovic isn’t the most prolific striker after he scored just five times last season, however, he netted 23 goals in the 2018/2019 season and Spurs must think they can improve his strike rate.

Harry Kane remains an undisputed starter at Tottenham, but Spurs will be playing to win four competitions this season and the Englishman cannot be expected to play all those games.

Seferovic will have to deal with the strong possibility of spending time on the bench if he stays at Benfica this season after the Portuguese side signed Darwin Nunez to compete for a place in their attack.

He is just one of many strikers that Spurs have been linked to in this transfer window. It remains unclear if the Lilywhites will eventually sign him or another target.
