Tottenham defender states he has no “intention” of leaving this summer

Tottenham Hotspur is planning to offload several players as manager Antonio Conte hopes to mold the squad into his vision. One player whose future in north London is unclear is defender Davinson Sanchez.

When it comes to the central defense, Cristian Romero and Eric Dier occupy two of the three spots, and reports would suggest that Spurs are in the market for another center back.

As a result, Sanchez likely won’t be starting for Tottenham next season, and despite not being guaranteed playing time, the Colombian international isn’t keen on leaving Spurs this summer.

In an interview with Semana, the 25-year-old stated that he hopes to continue with the Premier League club next season, saying he has no “intention” of leaving. “It was a positive season for me personally. Within what I was able to play, I always did it the way it had to be done,” the defender concluded.

If Tottenham plans to compete in several competitions for silverware, they’ll need depth to rotate in and not run their starters into the ground, so perhaps there’s a reason to hold onto a player like Sanchez.

The Colombian is under contract until 2024, and should Spurs listen to offers, Transfermarkt puts his value at £27-million.
