Tottenham “could make an interesting offer” for highly rated 23-yr-old

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham are still interested in Danish midfielder Morten Hjulmand according to TuttoMercatoWeb, as reported by Sports Witness.

As per the report, the young midfielder is valued around €15m and that Spurs “could make an interesting offer” for him in the summer.

The report mentions AS Roma, Juventus, and Borussia Dortmund as some other clubs interested in the Lecce midfielder.

The report also mentions that Tottenham have “watched” the 23 year old multiple times “over the past few months” on the orders of Fabio Paratici.

Hjulmand is primarily a defensive midfielder but can also play in central midfield as well as an attacking midfielder.

He joined the Italian side from Admira Wacker for just €170k in 2021 and the Austrian side is set to make a big profit on the midfielder if they sell him in the summer.

He might have a disciplinary issue judging from the amount of yellow cards he has picked up in his short time with the Italian side.

In 85 appearances, he has picked up 23 yellow cards and a red card. He also has 9 assists for Lecce.

Similarly, in his 74 appearances for Admira Wacker, he had been booked 18 times.

Keeping these statistics in mind, that is one part of the game he will need to work on, specially considering the physical nature of the English Premier League.

Tottenham will be looking to boost their midfield and add depth to their squad after going through a terrible injury crisis that has had an impact on their season.

A lot of the transfers will depend on who the manager is next season with Conte increasingly close to a Spurs exit.
