Tottenham could let star player go for €70million

Tottenham Hotspur star Son Heung-Min has been linked with a move away from the club in recent months.

Recent reports claim that Real Madrid are keen on signing the 30-year-old South Korean but they would have to shell out a premium in order to secure his services.

Son has been a key player since joining the London club and they are not prepared to let him leave for cheap. A report from Fichajes claims that the attacker is likely to cost around €70 million.

The versatile attacker has a contract with Spurs until the summer of 2025 and therefore the Londoners are under no pressure to cash in on him.

It will be interesting to see whether Son is tempted to move on if an offer is presented in the summer.

Son is in his 30s now and he will want to win some trophies now. Real Madrid can certainly give him the platform to do so. Furthermore, he would get to play with world-class players at the Spanish club.

The La Liga outfit believes that he would be an ideal fit for them, but it remains to be seen how they accommodate him should the move happen.

Real Madrid already has Karim Benzema, Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes at their disposal. That said, the Spanish club will need to add more depth to their attack and Son seems like a quality option.

Despite not being at his best this season, the Spurs ace remains a top-class player who would improve most teams. His versatility will be an added bonus for Ancelotti.

With Benzema now 34, the Frenchman needs to be used diligently so that he can stay fresh for important games. Bringing in Son would give Los Blanco’s the option to rotate and keep their attack fit and ready.

It remains to be seen whether Los Blanco’s are prepared to pay the €70m asking price for the 30-year-old at the end of this season.

What is the point of this drivel?! Firstly, Sonny has absolutely no intention of dishonouring his contract with Spurs, which he only recently signed, committing to end his career here and secondly, if you think Daniel Levy is going to sell Son, his biggest on-field commercial asset, worth countless millions to ENIC in advertising revenue, season tickets and above all merchandising, you are beyond delusional!
