Tottenham could land their first Serie A signing with a £15m move for Bologna man

Takehiro Tomiyasu has emerged as a Tottenham transfer target and the Bologna man could become the first player that joins from Serie A this summer.

It wouldn’t be a huge surprise if Tottenham signs players from Italy in this transfer window after they made Fabio Paratici their director of football.

His first task however is to name a new manager for the club, but The Sun is reporting that they are moving ahead with their plans to sign players this summer regardless.

They want a new defender and a move for Tomiyasu could be completed soon for around £15million.

The 22-year-old is reportedly keen to play in the Premier League and Tottenham is confident that they can sign him

Spurs landed Joe Rodon and Matt Doherty last summer, but they failed to impress in their first campaign at the club.

Tomiyasu can reportedly play as a centre back and as a right-back and he might be brought in as cover for both positions.

One problem, however, is that he has been chosen to play for Japan at the Olympics and he might miss a huge part of the start of next season if he makes the move to Spurs this summer.
