Tottenham could appoint title-winning manager next week ‘if he wants’ the job

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur are expected to appoint Ange Postecoglou as their new manager soon.

The north London giants are currently without a permanent manager after parting ways with Antonio Conte earlier this season. Former midfielder Ryan Mason has been appointed as the interim manager of the club but the 31-year-old is unlikely to get the job full-time.

Postecoglou has done an impressive job at Celtic and his exploits have caught the attention of the north London club.

According to a report from Irish Sun, the 57-year-old manager is now the front-runner to secure the Tottenham job and Spurs are on the verge of appointing him as their new manager. Apparently, the deal could be done next week.

Football Insider adds that the job is his ‘if he wants it’.

Postecoglou has won back-to-back league titles and he will be hoping to make his mark in the Premier League now. The opportunity to manage a club like Tottenham will be an exciting option for him. It would be a major step up in his career and the experienced Australian manager will be looking to prove himself worthy of managing a top Premier League club.

Tottenham have had a disappointing season and they have missed out on Champions League qualification. The 57-year-old will be expected to get them back into the top four and convince key players like Harry Kane to stay at the club.

Spurs have been linked with the likes of Arne Slot, Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique in recent weeks as well.
