Tottenham are considering a move for the Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke.
While Tottenham have been quite busy throughout the transfer window, they have only added two teenagers to their ranks and have extended the loan spell of Timo Werner. With the deadline fast approaching, the North London club are keen on reinforcing their attack. They want to add more quality on the flanks and bring in a world-class striker who can lead the line.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham are exploring a move to sign Bournemouth star Dominic Solanke who is one their top targets for the number nine role. While they did a decent job last season without signing a Harry Kane replacement, Ange Postecoglou is desperate to have a new striker who can help them take the next step. He wants a central figure who can bring others into the game and Solanke seems to be an exciting option.
The 26-year-old English striker has a lot of experience playing in the Premier League and he has taken his game to another level since joining the Cherries back in 2019. While Solanke is one of the targets for Spurs, they are going to find it very difficult to strike a deal for the former Liverpool ace.
He is an integral part of Bournemouth’s first-team setup and with three years still left on his deal, they are unlikely to sanction the departure of someone who had 21 goals and four assists in his 42 outings last season.
So far the Cherries haven’t received a formal bid as Spurs are still exploring their options. While they do want a top striker as well as a winger, it will depend on the opportunities the market presents to them in the final weeks.
