Tottenham coach tells West Ham star he would love to sign him

Former Manchester City player Yaya Toure recently took up a coaching role at Tottenham Hotspur academy.

The player was recently seen filming a video with West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice.

The 24-year-old defensive midfielder has been linked with a move away from West Ham in recent months. Rice has established himself as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League and he could look to join a top club in the summer.

While the two players were lifting the collection of shirts Rice had accumulated over the course of his career, the two players picked out the shirts of Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min.

Rice was full of praise for Son and Toure urged the midfielder to join Tottenham at the end of the season.

Toure said: “Harry Kane – Tottenham! You have to come and play at Tottenham and you have two (shirts) on there!”

Rice replied: “I know, Son, what a player…”

A player of Rice’s calibre deserves to play for a club in the Champions League and it will be interesting to see where he ends up.

He has been linked with a move back to Chelsea. Rice could feel that he has unfinished business at Stamford Bridge after being released from the London club as a youth player.

As far as a move to Tottenham is concerned, a transfer seems highly unlikely. Spurs will struggle to stump up the cash needed to sign him and the Hammers might not want to sell their star player to a direct rival either.
