Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keeping tabs on Brighton and Hove Albion manager Roberto De Zerbi.
Antonio Conte has been linked with a move away from the London club at the end of the season. The Italian manager will be a free agent in the summer and Tottenham have not managed to sign an extension with him yet. However, they retain an option to extend the deal for another season.
Conte has been linked with the return to Italy and Spurs will have to bring in a quality replacement if the Italian decides to move on.
According to Football Insider, his compatriot Roberto de Zerbi has been identified as a potential replacement for Conte after the 43-year-old impressed with Brighton in the Premier League. The Seagulls have been outstanding since the appointment of De Zerbi and their counter-attacking style of football has caught the attention of a number of clubs.
The 43-year-old has guided Brighton to 6th place in the Premier League table and they could even push for Champions League qualification this season.
The 43-year-old manager has clearly proven his quality in the Premier League and the Tottenham chiefs are reportedly ‘impressed’ with him.
Ideally, Tottenham will be hoping to keep Conte at the club after backing him significantly in the recent transfer windows but De Zerbi could be an exciting appointment as well.
It remains to be seen whether the 43-year-old is prepared to abandon his project at Brighton and move to Spurs in the summer if the Londoners come calling with a lucrative offer.
