Tottenham chasing 26-year-old World Cup star who will cost €40-45 million

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing the Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.

According to a report from Gazzetta Dello Sport (h/t SportWitness), the London club have been keeping tabs on the 26-year-old midfielder for a while now and his performances during the 2022 World Cup could force Tottenham to make their move in the upcoming windows.

Apparently, the Italian club might not be keen on selling the player midway through the season and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham are prepared to test their resolve with a concrete offer.

The midfielder is reportedly valued at €40-45 million and Tottenham certainly have the resources to pay that kind of money for a player of Amrabat’s caliber.

The report further states that Tottenham are currently chasing the 26-year-old and they are in pole position to sign the player despite competition from a number of other European clubs.

Antonio Conte needs to add more depth to his midfield and the 26-year-old could prove to be the ideal signing for his side. Amrabat’s relentless work ethic and defensive quality could be invaluable for Tottenham in the middle of the park.

Furthermore, the Moroccan international’s signing will add some much-needed depth to the side and Conte will be able to rest his key players from time to time.

It remains to be seen whether Tottenham come forward with a concrete offer for the player in the coming weeks.

The London club are currently fighting for a place in the Champions League next season and a quality addition in January will only boost their chances of finishing inside the top four.
