Tottenham are tracking £12m-rated playmaker in January

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing the Bristol City midfielder Alex Scott.

The 19-year-old has impressed with his performances in the Championship and Tottenham are among a number of Premier League clubs tracking the midfielder as per Ben Jacobs.

The 19-year-old is a central midfielder who can play in an advanced role as well and he will add some much-needed creativity to Antonio Conte’s side.

However, the 19-year-old is unlikely to come cheap and Bristol will demand around £12 million for his services. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham are prepared to spend that kind of money on him this month.

The Londoners are reportedly looking to bring in a quality right-back as well and they could certainly use another centre-back. Alex Scott could prove to be a quality long-term signing for Tottenham but they should prioritise players who can come in and improve their squad immediately.

Tottenham are fighting for a top-four finish and they cannot afford to miss out on Champions League football.

It will be interesting to see if Daniel Levy is willing to back his manager in the transfer market this month and bring in players who can transform them.

Meanwhile, the likes of Bournemouth, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Leicester City, Leeds United and Brighton and Hove Albion are all keen on signing the 19-year-old Bristol midfielder.

The opportunity to join a Premier League club is likely to be a tempting proposition for the player and it will be interesting to see if any of his suitors are willing to come forward with a concrete bid for the player before the January window closes.

Ideally, Scott should look to continue with Bristol until the end of the season.  The midfielder cannot afford to risk joining a club where he might not be playing regularly at this stage of his career.

If he continues to improve and develop with Bristol, he will have plenty of opportunities to join a top Premier League club in the future.
