Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Croatian full-back Borna Sosa from VfB Stuttgart this summer, as per the latest report from SportsBild (as reported by Sport Witness).
Sosa, who has attracted interest from top clubs in Europe, has expressed his desire to ‘take the next step’ in his career and is likely to leave Stuttgart at the end of the season.
The 25-year-old, who graduated from Dinamo Zagreb academy, broke into the first team in 2016/17 and earned himself a move to Stuttgart in 2018.
Since then, he has made 101 appearances in all competitions for the German side, scoring 5 goals and providing 32 assists. His impressive performances have caught the attention of several clubs, including Tottenham, Sevilla, and Real Sociedad.
Tottenham signed Pedro Porro in January, who after a slow start, has shown his attacking prowess from the right wing-back position.
With the addition of Sosa, Spurs will be hoping to find a similar attacking threat from the left side of the pitch. Sosa is known for his attacking abilities, having scored 2 goals and provided 9 assists in all competitions this season.
However, Tottenham will face competition from Sevilla and Real Sociedad, who are also interested in signing the Croatian star.
It remains to be seen which club will succeed in signing Sosa, but Tottenham fans will be hoping that their club can add him to their squad and strengthen their backline for the upcoming season.
