Tottenham are “considering a contract offer” for ‘world class’ midfielder

By Mehdi Gokal -

According to 90min, Tottenham were among “a number of Premier League clubs” that was “keeping tabs” on Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita back in October.

And according to the latest report from 90min, they are still interested and are “considering a contract offer” for the player.

Despite the interest, the player himself is said to be more interested in a move back to Germany where he remains a “popular figure” with a return to RB Leipzig the most likely destination.

The report also mentions other European clubs who are apparently interested in his services including Lyon, Inter Milan, Monaco and AC Milan.

The “world class” midfielder moved to the Merseyside club from RB Leipzig in 2018 for 60m euros and was at that time considered to be an exciting signing for the Reds.

However, the move has not worked out for him, with him spending the majority of his time at the club injured. He has been unlucky with injuries and never really got a good consistent run of games. In 127 appearances for Liverpool the midfielder has scored 11 goals and asisted 7.

There is no doubt about the quality of the player and in terms of ability and skill, he is perhaps Liverpool’s best midfielder after Thiago.

If Antonio Conte can manage to get the best out of him and if manages to remain injury free, he will prove to be an excellent addition to the Spurs midfield alongside Hojberg and Rodrigo Bentancur. Keita will provide the energy in the midfield to boost their attacks and at the same time offer a lot defensively too.
