Tottenham among five clubs tracking £30 million-rated Copa America forward

Tottenham are interested in LOSC Lille star Jonathan David who is also attracting attention from four other Premier League clubs.

David has had an impressive rise at LOSC Lille. He has gone from strength to strength since joining them and his performances for both club and country have put him on the radar of multiple top clubs. According to a report from GIVEMESPORT, Tottenham are one of the five English clubs who are closely monitoring the Canadian international ahead of a potential transfer.

David has been one of the standout performers for Lille over the last few seasons. He has contributed towards 65 goals in his last two seasons and has further enhanced his reputation by helping Canada reach the semi-finals of the Copa America where they ended up losing to Argentina. The 24-year-old striker finds himself on the wishlist of Manchester United, Aston Villa, Chelsea as well as West Ham United with all four clubs keen on reinforcing their attack this summer.

While Tottenham are also interested in his services, they will have to battle the competition to sign the KAA Gent striker. Ange Postecoglou’s team did a great job last season without signing a replacement for Harry Kane. But, the Australian manager is now desperate to have a quality number nine leading his attack and they feel David could be a great acquisition for the short as well as the long run.

He has a proven track record in France and given his potential he could lead Tottenham’s attack for years to come. Financially it won’t be a problem for Spurs to sign David as he is expected to be available for around £30 million. But, with United, Villa, Chelsea and West Ham keen, the North London club could face stiff competition for the services of the Canadian international.
