Tottenham told to offer £30 million plus 26-year-old star in a deal for 19-goal attacker

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur are all set to have a busy summer transfer window where they will look to raise the overall standard of their squad. They are expected to push for a new striker and former midfielder Jamie O’Hara wants his old club to sign Alexander Isak.

The 24-year-old Swedish striker has been in sensational form since joining Newcastle United from Real Sociedad back in the summer of 2022. He has featured in a total of 59 matches for the Magpies and has contributed towards 33 goals.

His impressive performances have attracted a lot of attention and since Newcastle are under pressure because of the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules, they could look to sell one of their stars.

O’Hara feels the Magpies might have to sell the 24-year-old and he wants his former club to push for his signature.

The former Tottenham midfielder said on talkSPORT via Football London: “Newcastle might have to sell Isak and I know Spurs would love him. It is a step forward for Isak. I don’t think they would spend £100m but Spurs have been linked, and I’d love him. I’d do a swap deal.

“We give you £30m and Richarlison. I’d even throw in Djed Spence. Throw in Dane Scarlett as well, he’s young, up and coming.”

Tottenham would do well to sign Alexander Isak

Tottenham haven’t signed a Harry Kane replacement yet. Signing a world-class striker who can help them replace the England international in the long run is one of their priorities heading into the summer.

Isak could be an ideal fit for them and they have been linked with the Swedish international. Although Eddie Howe recently made it clear that they have no intentions of negotiating his exit, O’Hara wants Spurs to test their resolve.

Player plus cash deals are often difficult to execute and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham try and put forward an offer to prise Isak away from Newcastle. Richarlison has not been able to live up to the expectations since the big-money move from Everton, and therefore, offering him in a deal for Isak could be a wise decision.
