Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport believe that Roma are now looking for two central defenders, having just sold Konstantinos “Kostas” Manolas to Napoli, for €36million and their existing veteran, the 32-year-old Iván Marcano Sierra appears to be past it.
The big name in the frame for the Italians say Corriere dello Sport, is our boy Toby Alderweireld.
Will Toby walk?
This is a genuinely tough one to call. The Belgian’s body language suggest that he’s still up for another season, but the creeping concern has to be that Daniel Levy will be looking for ways to ‘balance his books’ after the lavish commitment that is the Tanguy Dombele purchase.
Hopefully Toby will stay and Tottenham resist the urge to cash in, for would be a relatively modest sum. Despite the coo inducing clip doing the rounds this morning of Juan Foyth, the boy is not yet the required standard for teh Premier League.

In other news, just as Levy is backing out of Lo Celso talks, Dele Alli is back in for former flame Ruby Mae. Seriously? Don’t do this to yourselves (or us). I seem to recall a bible verse containing the words “dog” and “vomit”.

It appears according to daily star (so complete bullshit) – Spurs are still in hunt for Sessignon…but we want 2 for the price of 1. Apparently Spurs want both Ryan and Steven.
Also just read they saying Ndombele on £200k a week!! so this new lad is now 2nd highest paid player?? Surely we can AT LEAST match that for our best player?
Keep Toby for one more year, get Jan on a new contract, buy Sessegnon, sell CE and buy lo Celso, get rid of ncloudo, Janseen and buy a young striker…boom
I believe the €25m release clause only runs for July and I hope nobody meets it. Getting another season out of him while Sanchez & Foyth develop further would be much better in the long-run than €25m. But we know that’s not how the little peck-head sees things and he will be be loath to let anyone walk on a free. The whole Toby saga only serves to further endorse Poch’s comments about not being in control of transfers or contract extensions. I’m certain if Poch had his way Toby would have signed long ago but Levy just sees Toby as an ageing commodity with no resale value. Toby is 2nd only to VVD in the PL IMO (a very close 2nd) and any replacement is likely to be a trade down ala Walker vs Aurier. What an absolute farce. What a mess
Toby Alderweireld is our best player, so it would be madness to let him go. Zaniolo is pure class, so it would be great to get him, but we must keep Alderweireld. Give Lamela back to Roma, instead.
