Time for Tottenham to move on, youngster lacking ambition and would rather sign for Arsenal

One player that has proven that Spurs were wrong to let him go so soon is Marcus Edwards.

The young Englishman made just one senior appearance for the Lilywhites before being sold to Portuguese side, Vitoria Guimarães, where he has been in fine form this season.

Such has been his form that a return to Spurs has been reported with A Bola via Sport Witness claiming that Tottenham would love to have him back in their team.

However, that will be a tough one for the Lilywhites to pull off with a new report from GivemeSports claiming that the club isn’t confident of landing the teenager because of the nature of his departure.

Edwards left Spurs because he felt he wasn’t being given enough chances in the first team and he doesn’t want to make a return to the same team claims GivemeSports.

The teenager doesn’t seem to have so much of an ambition to make a name for himself at his former home at the moment and the same report claims that he would rather move to Spurs bitter rivals, Arsenal.

Edwards has been an important member of the Guimaraes team this season, and he even scored a goal against Arsenal in the Europa League.

His current release clause stands at €15 million, which Tottenham probably could afford, but if the young man is not interested then it is time for Tottenham to move on and target alternatives.

There is no point Tottenham chasing any player that lacks the ambition to move to a big club going in the right direction who would rather move to a club in serious decline, such as Arsenal.
