“This season he’s shown why such a big price tag was behind his name” Ferdinand full of praise for Spurs man

After watching him score a goal and impress in Tottenham’s game against Wolves, Rio Ferdinand is full of praise for the former Lyon star.

The Frenchman joined Spurs at the start of last season after they failed to win the Champions League.

His heavy price tag of £55.45 million meant that a lot was expected of him when he joined the club.

But he struggled in his first campaign and he was even ousted from the team by Jose Mourinho towards the end of the season.

He has won his place back with some fine performances in midfield this season and Ferdinand thinks that his current form shows why Spurs spent that much money to land him.

Ferdinand states that Ndombele is such a delight to watch and praised him for his ability to get out of trouble every time he is surrounded by opposition players.

Speaking on the FIVE YouTube channel, he said: “This season he’s shown why such a big price tag was behind his name.

“His feet are beautiful, a playground footballer. The ball comes into him, one or two players marking him, he doesn’t care, a little shimmy, he gets out of trouble all the time.”
