I don’t understand why those people support spurs at all. What is Spurs identity? Who are Spurs representing? Man United represents the worker class of Manchester, Chelsea represents South London, Arsenal represent the royal armoury and North London (yes I said it, anyone who said otherwise should explain why most North Londoners support Arsenal)
Representing Tottenham? What did they give to the Tottenham community? Aside from donations etc, all they did was ruining a metalwork business for their stadium.
Man City, a club people often called soulless, built the surrounding community. Spurs, in all their boasting about their history, already doesn’t have an identity way back from Sugar’s era up until now. People will argue that ENIC turns a mid-table team into a top six team. But that is Pochettino’s work, it’s his magic.
Those “top club identity” that spurs fans are really proud of is Pochettino’s and will always be his legacy, not spurs’. Spurs were very lucky to have him, otherwise, they won’t be a top 6 club in the first place and Jose wouldn’t want to come.
So my question still remains, What is Spur’s identity? Who do spurs represent? Until those questions are answered, I will always wonder why people are so loyal to Spurs. Because right now, all I see there is just some scheme to get money from sponsors from a club that is not bigger and greater than Blackburn Rover’s and Newcastle United.
